While satisfied with the results using my 6500K metal halide light as far as coral growth, intensity etc., the 6500k MH is just a little on the yellow side. I just wanted to bring out the colors of the corals in my reef aquarium by adding some actinic light, at the same time I didn’t want the reef tank to look (overly) blue or deep sea. Whether the actinics will actually make corals grow more vivid colors is to be seen, I’m just refering to the visual appearance of the corals.
